BridgeGame runs your games on open-source software. This page lists every component, its license and where its exact source lives, as the LGPL asks us to.
Components
- Wine (CrossOver 26.3.0 sources, athei build cx-26.3.0-8) — LGPL 2.1 or later. Source: https://github.com/athei/wine/tree/d23b3977452. Downloaded on your Mac when BridgeGame installs its engine. Built with athei/wine-build; the archive is from its cx-26.3.0-8 release.
- Wine 10.0 (Sikarugir build, fallback engine on macOS 15) — LGPL 2.1 or later. Source: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/tree/wine-10.0. Packaged by Sikarugir-App/Engines.
- DXMT 0.80 (Direct3D 10/11 to Metal) — MIT. Source: https://github.com/3Shain/dxmt/tree/v0.80. On macOS 14 the LGPL build v0.80-244 (commit 7c8dee1) is used instead.
- x87sidecar 1.8.0 (x87 acceleration for 32-bit games under Rosetta) — MIT. Source: https://github.com/Lifeisawful/rosettax87. Shipped inside the Wine archive above.
The app downloads these from their publishers' release pages when you set it up; the exact URLs and SHA-256 checksums are in the app's runtime.lock.json. You can replace the engine with your own build.
What we modify
One file: ntdll.so of the CrossOver 26 engine, rebuilt with optimisation from the same Wine commit (the published archive is compiled without it). The complete recipe is here, under the LGPL 2.1:
- wine-ntdll-recipe.zip — README,
build.sh,mark_optnone.pyand the license text (SHA-256 in wine-ntdll-recipe.zip.sha256). - The source it builds from is the Wine commit linked above;
build.shfetches it.
You can switch the rebuilt file off at any time: defaults write app.win2mac.Win2Mac disableWineOverrides -bool true, then restart BridgeGame; it puts the original back.
Not included
BridgeGame never downloads or ships Apple's Game Porting Toolkit. If you want its Direct3D 12 support you import your own copy from Apple and accept Apple's license yourself.
